Deep Healing - Part 2
1 Thessalonians 5:23 ‘ May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.’
Paul clearly states three parts in the verse above; spirit, soul and body.
Your body is just a place where you live.
Who are you? You are a spirit. You have a soul and you live in a body.
Science speaks only about your soul and body. There are no studies on the spirit. But the Bible speaks on all the three.
Genesis 2:7 ‘Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.’
It is from the breath of God, ‘Ruah’ that our spirit was formed.
There are three expressions that we can see from above; created, made and formed. God created our spirit. With this spirit, the breath of God comes in contact with the body. The soul which is the software of our body is made by God.
Hebrews 4:12 ‘For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.’
The Word of God can penetrate the soul, spirit and body. Hallelujah!
God’s word is the healing for your spirit.
Luke 23:45-46 ‘or the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. 46 Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.’
We can see Jesus giving his spirit to God. When a person dies, his spirit leaves the body first and then his soul. This is clearly seen during the death of Jesus.
Many people consider soul and spirit to be the same. But we need to understand that there is a clear distinction between them.
Our spirit is a recreated spirit by the Holy Spirit and the word of God. The potential of your spirit is extraordinary because the Holy Spirit is dwelling inside of you.
The mysteries of God are revealed in your spirit. The spirit does not die.
A person who is born again is a supernatural human! We are not ordinary.
Many of the believers feel that because we are still on this earth we are just ordinary human beings. We need to change this way of thinking.
1 John 4:4 ‘You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.’
This is how we need to feel and consider ourselves to be.
When we believe that we are the children of God and that we can overcome this world, we become bold and courageous. Believing this has added benefits - your body and soul will receive healing much faster.
1 Corinthians 6:17 ‘But whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit.’
Confess the word of God. Everything that you need from God has already been given to you through the Holy Spirit the day you received Christ into your life.
God is Word and vice versa. Whatever God can do, the word of God can also do.
Psalm 107:20 ‘He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.’
Your senses should listen to the revelation that you receive. Your sense should be subject to the revelation of God. You should live led by the spirit.
Summary
Every person has a spirit, soul and body. All three are distinct. Every person receives knowledge from his senses and from the revelation of God. Revelation tells you that you can be set free from all troubles. But your senses tell you there is no escape. You should live a life led by the spirit of God.
