Individual Invasion Of The Holy Spirit
Wherever there has been a revival in the world, the Spirit has presented Himself through His works. There have been many invasions by the Holy Spirit. In our study, we shall consider seven major invasions of the Holy Spirit from Genesis to Revelation to get an outline of the understanding of His work.

In the last two days we focused on the works of the Holy Spirit during the time of Creation. The Holy Spirit hovered over the waters when the earth was void and in deep darkness. Yesterday we learnt that everything occurs through the Holy Spirit because God says - not by power not by might but by My Spirit.
Job 33: 4 - The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
Psalm 139: 13 - 16 - For You created my inmost being; YOu knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made…
When a temple is being built there are requirements of engineers, architects, site supervisors, masons, carpenters, fabricators…..this is our understanding. But the Holy Spirit says this is not so…it is My Spirit that builds the temple. Our body is a temple of God, the church is a temple, the work of which is done by the Holy Spirit.
In the book of Haggai 2: 5 - This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And My Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.
Here I would like to remind you all that you have not been given a spirit of fear, but a Spirit of love, strength and wisdom. That means we have the Spirit of boldness and courage.

Yesterday we learnt that everything occurs through the Holy Spirit because God says - not by power not by might but by My Spirit.

Today let us delve into the work of the Holy Spirit in the incarnation of Jesus. Luke 1: 35 - the angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.”
Let us take a short look into the life of Mary - an ordinary girl, who grew up playing with her friends and reached her teens. Now she is approached by Joseph, a man of good character and a carpenter. They are betrothed and then Mary is visited by the angel Gabriel. This could have probably occurred during her time of prayer. Of her many qualities were purity of heart and a humble nature.
It is revealed to her that she would conceive and give birth to a baby boy. Mary is sceptical and questions the angel as to how this would be possible as she has not known a man. The angel explains to her the plan of God. Understanding God’s purpose, Mary’s response is - be it unto me as you wish. In other words, HERE I AM, do unto me as is Your will. My understanding is that as soon as she spoke her consent, the Holy Spirit invaded her being. The power and strength of the Almighty enters her and covers her whole being…. and a seed is created inside of her. Many miraculous births have taken place elsewhere in the world, but never a birth like this has taken place or will so be in the future… without the participation of a man or in the earthly manner as we understand it.
Today, through medical inventions like IVF, babies are created. But this was not the case with Mary… there was no medical intervention in any form. When the Holy Spirit came upon a young woman and overshadowed her, the Almighty filled her womb with a seed. He is called the Son of God. Something impossible was made possible - a natural but unique birth, supernatural in form.
A question may arise in our minds that this incident could have been done before the betrothal of Mary. But then Jesus would have been called fatherless. A man, a father figure, was required to give care and protection. He was to be born into a family. The Bible also says that till the birth of Jesus, Joseph had no physical union with Mary even though they were man and wife.
The word of God had been transformed into human form. This is the work of the Holy Spirit… and we have the Saviour. To be noted here is that the invasion of the Holy Spirit was in a particular person, into her being. In those days, many young virgins would have prayed fervently that the Saviour of the world would be born through them, because it was written in the Scriptures. Mary, on the contrary, had not probably prayed this as she did not consider herself worthy and her humble nature would have been pleasing to the heart of God. It is to be remembered that humility attracts the favour of God.

If you can give the Holy Spirit an opportunity to overshadow you, then the Almighty would enable some things to take birth inside of us - may be some projects, some new businesses, new ministry. Eph. 3: 20…. Beyond our thoughts… God is able. Meaning beyond our imagination or dreams. But it is when the Holy Spirit comes upon us that this is possible. It is when you declare to God: Let Your will be done in my life! Your will alone in my life. This is when an invasion takes place in our life…His will comes forth through us in our individual lives. We often tend to pray that our will, our desires, would come forth as a blessing through God.
The prayer of Jesus and of Mary too, was seeking the will of God in their lives. If we can humble ourselves before God, the Holy Spirit will birth something in us. As you listen to this message, if you take to heart to welcome the Holy Spirit into your life, you are going to conceive. You will receive something new deep inside of you…..divine plans, divine ministry will be birthed.
In the case of Mary, the Spirit entered her and a God-Man was conceived - Jesus the Christ - Jesus the Man and Christ the Saviour. A hybrid being - God and man at the same time. An incident never to be repeated in history. If God worked in a human to birth the Saviour to the world, today, when the Holy Spirit enters our being, we will birth Jesus to many across the nations. Jesus is a special child; none like Him ever born. Similarly a special concept, a special project will be born through us that has not been offered to many others.
Who would like to invite the Holy Spirit into their lives, to invade our very being and to bring forth something new and unique into the world.
A revelation I received from the Holy Spirit - if you have a special child, you are a special parent and you have been blessed with special grace to nurture the children all of their years.
