FOCUS WORD: NEW TERRITORIES
FOCUS VERSE: Deuteronomy 11: 24 - Every place where you set your foot will be yours.
DECLARATION: I step into new territories of favour and fruitfulness today; the Lord goes before me.
New territories begin with movement: Possession is connected to moving forward. Many people desire new seasons while remaining stationary or in old positions. The promise of God needs to be accompanied by action.
Joshua 1: 3 - I will give you every place where you set our foot.
Hebrews 11: 8 - By faith Abraham obeyed and went.
James 2: 17 - In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
Progress begins with movement.
Courage is required to enter new territories: Israelites left Egypt after many years of slavery and according to the promise of Jehovah, moving ahead to Canaan - the Promised Land. But at that point these lands were occupied by strong nations. Every new territory usually contains challenges, resistance and uncertainty. But God will give you the boldness and confidence to step forward.
Joshua 1: 9 - Be strong and courageous.
Psalm 27: 1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
2 Timothy 1: 7 - For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Fear restrains many people to the border of blessing, but the courage of God carries them across. Higher ground often requires brave steps. But if you are able to take these brave steps with courage, your view will change.
New territories must be claimed daily: The promise was given but each place had to be conquered one step at a time. God often gives large promises through small daily progress.
Luke 16: 10 - Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.
Proverbs 4: 18 - The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
Galatians 6: 9 - Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Territory is usually gained step by step, not all at once. This is an important lesson to be learnt in life.
New territories are given for a purpose: God did not bless Israel with a new land only for comfort but for a covenant purpose. New territories in life give opportunities, influence, resources, ministry, entrusted for God’s glory.
Genesis 12: 2 - I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
Matthew 5: 16 - Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
1 Corinthians 10: 31 - Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
An increase without a purpose is wasted, but an increase with a purpose becomes a legacy. God enlarges our lives so that we can carry a greater purpose.
