“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; and find out knowledge of witty ideas” - Proverbs 8.12

Wisdom is personified in Proverbs 8. True innovation did not begin in Board rooms, it started with God. Genesis chapter 1 reveals a Creator who forms, orders and designs.
James 1.5 If any of you lack wisdom, ASK GOD
Our God is omniscient and we only need to ask Him for His wisdom. The Bible is full of His wisdom. God knows our past, present and future .
Daniel 2.21 He gives wisdom and knowledge
Divine ideas are heaven’s answers entering earthly situations. Just as the source of many rivers, lakes etc are hidden from us, God in Heaven who is unseen is the Author of many concepts, ideas which are birthed in us.
Divine ideas solve real problems
Every one encounters problems in their life one after the other just like the waves that keep coming and going in the sea. When one overcomes one problem, the next one comes into our life.
When we read the Gospels, we see how Jesus had problems even before he was born. From the moment God gave Adam the promise that the seed of the woman would crush Satan’s head in Genesis chapter 3, all attempts were made by Satan to see that Jesus would not be born. Many years later, soon after Joseph knew that the woman he was betrothed to was with a child, he wanted to secretly divorce her but the angel of the Lord intervened. Even after Jesus was born, Herod tried killing all the babies under two years to kill Jesus. Problems followed Jesus all His life till death and after death and it continues even now.
Then, what about us ? We must be ready to face problems in our life because we have a God who is ready to solve it for us.
Philippians 4.13 says “ I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
God will give practical answers in the midst of problems. Wisdom is not abstract philosophy. It produces practical solutions.
Joseph received a strategy for the famine faced by Egypt. God gave one man divine ideas through dreams that saved many nations. Noah received a design for the Ark that saved his entire family.
Moses received patterns/ blueprint for the tabernacle.
Genesis 41.33-36 Joseph’s plan preserved the nations
Exodus 31.3-5 Bezaleil was filled with the Spirit of skill, ability and craftmanship
Ecclesiastes 10.10 Skill brings success
Divine ideas require prudence and preparation
Many receive divine ideas but it is not put to use. It needs much prudence and preparation.
Proverbs 8.12 says “I, wisdom dwell with prudence”
Creativity without prudence becomes chaotic. Ideas need structure, timing and stewardship.
Proverbs 21.5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit
Luke 14.28 Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
1 Corinthians 14.40 But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.
Wisdom gives ideas. Prudence shows how to implement them.
Divine ideas must be acted upon
Many people receive thoughts but they don’t explore it and develop it. We must work on the ideas that God gives us. Faithful actions turn inspiration into impact.
James 1.22 Be doers of the Word.
Habakkuk 2.2 Write down your vision
Colossians 3.23 Work with all your heart.
Before God gives you an idea, He expects you to do the previous one first. A plan given by God must be executed. God gives everyone creative ideas. We need to pray for it. And with godly wisdom we must implement it.
