DILIGENCE
FOCUS WORD: DILIGENCE
FOCUS VERSE: Proverbs 12: 24 - Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labour.
DECLARATION: I work diligently today; God rewards my effort with promotion and increase.
Diligence turns potential into progress: Every person has diligence and laziness inborn with them. People are born with some sort of talent or the other; but, only a few develop it to full potential. Diligence is consistent effort applied over time. Talent opens doors and diligence keeps it open.
Proverbs 10: 4 - Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.
Ecclesiastes 9: 10 - Whatever your hands find to do, do it with all your might.
2 Timothy 1: 6 - Fan into flame the gift of God.
Potential unused remains dormant and stagnant. Diligence awakens capacity. Any field with good fertile soil will yield a good harvest if cultivated, but if left unused wild weeds will grow unchecked.
Diligence is built through daily habits: Great outcomes are the result of repeated small actions. Diligence is not occasional intensity, it is disciplined consistency.
Hebrews 6: 11 - Show diligence in everything you do.
Small routines shape large results. Small and steady steps take you to great heights.
Diligence leads to influence and responsibility: Scripture connects diligence with leadership and stewardship. Those who manage well are often trusted with more. In Genesis chapter 39 we see how Joseph who was sold into slavery and probably treated very badly put in his best effort in all that he was appointed to do. This pleased his lords and slowly but steadily he rose from being a servant in the house of Potiphar to the right-hand man of the Pharaoh. Influence is often the fruit of reliability.
Laziness creates bondage: Laziness promises comfort but produces limitation.
Proverbs 24: 30 - 34 - ……a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a thief, and want like an armed man.
Proverbs 13: 4 - A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.
2 Thessalonians 3: 10 - If anyone is not willing to work, neither should they eat.
As we mentioned earlier, each person has a portion of diligence and laziness in them. Whom will you feed and develop - diligence or laziness? Do not keep things for later; procrastination never gets things done. Let all laziness die today - instead there be born diligence and persistence.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
