Zechariah 4:6 “So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”
The Holy Spirit’s invasion in our lives is something that everyone has to experience. In the last episode, we learned about the Holy Spirit’s invasion upon the whole universe.
It is the Holy Spirit that implemented the creation process on the Father’s command.
In a relatable example, suppose the Father God instructs for a light switch to be turned on, Jesus, the Son, gets up to switch it on. It gets switched on by electricity; this is the Holy Spirit (who is also a person).
Under Solomon’s reign, the Israelites built the beautiful Jerusalem temple. This was destroyed and rebuilt many times. When the Israelites returned from slavery in Babylon, they wanted to rebuild the temple. God appointed three people at the top to lead this. They were Zerubbabel the governor, Joshua the high priest, and Haggai the prophet.
They were the main team selected for the temple rebuilding.
Other construction happened under the leadership of engineers and architects and construction workers. But this was God’s temple. Construction workers wouldn’t be enough. This needed the power of the Holy Spirit! If God’s temple were to be built, it would not be by power or might, but by His Spirit.
In the New Testament, God appoints Apostles, prophets, and people to physically administer work.
Job 32:8 “But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.”
It is the breath of God and His Spirit that has created us and given us life.
Genesis 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
Psalm 139:13-16 “13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

God formed us and ordained all of our days before our days even began! We write in our diaries after the day is over, but God enters everything before it even happens!
By the Spirit of God, not by power or might. Everything was created through the Spirit.
Haggai 2:5 “This is the promise I made to you when you came out of Egypt. And My Spirit remains among you; do not be afraid”.
How many of us have accepted and received the Holy Spirit into us? If the Holy Spirit is in us, we do not need to fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
When Timothy had to lead a church, he was afraid of how he would do it! This is when Paul writes to him that God has given us the Holy Spirit!
In the Old Testament, the Spirit was among them, not in them! Only when Jesus died on the cross, did we become ready to receive the Spirit into us!
John 20:22 “And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
Do you really feel like the Holy Spirit is in you? If He is, we need to stop fearing. He is the Creator and has all the power! With the Holy Spirit inside us, we can remember that all we do is not by our own power or might, but by Him! God doesn’t need our strength or skills, we just need to rely on the Holy Spirit
