Wisdom to Multiply!
Title: Wisdom to Multiply!
The focus word is ‘Wisdom to Multiply.
1Kings 4.29: “The Lord gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.”
Declaration: I receive divine wisdom to handle increase; God teaches me how to multiply resources and influence.
Points to ponder….
1.Multiplication begins with wisdom
God did not give Solomon greater power or influence or wealth but wisdom. This means we need wisdom for expansion and all the rest will follow because resources without wisdom can be wasted. But wisdom can create and multiply resources.
Pro 4.7 tells us that wisdom is supreme. Therefore, get wisdom. Consider an intense group discussion. When a person with wisdom speaks, all others will calm down; giving opportunity to the wise to speak. Solomon was blessed with wisdom.
According to Eccl 10.10, wisdom brings success.
James 1.5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, ask God….” Solomon asked God for wisdom; probably he would have prayed – “I am neither mature nor experienced to lead this nation. Please grant me wisdom.” And he got it.
Mt. 7.7 – Ask and you shall receive.
Many people seek increase first. But God often gives wisdom first. People who have sought increase first ten to lose what they got for lack of wisdom through wrong decisions and wrong investments. Wisdom turns little into much. A skilled builder would create the best even though he has only limited resources. The Swedish company IKEA supplies furniture and accessories which are ergonomic in nature and have high utility value. This accounts for its multiple outlets all over the world even in Hyderabad, India and it’s a success!
2.Wisdom sees beyond the surface
We understand from 1Kings 4.29 that Solomon received insight and broad understanding. Wisdom sees causes, timings, patterns and consequences. It looks deeper than appearances providing foresight and hindsight.
Pro 14.8 says, “The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways….”
1Sam 16.7 – people look at outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart.
Col 1. 9 says, “…. ask God to fill you with …... wisdom and understanding.” Those who see clearly oft grow steadily.
When a patient consults a doctor, he narrates his symptoms. The doctor however tries to diagnose and treat the root cause of those symptoms. Similarly, wisdom searches out the roots, while we look at the outward results. Just like a doctor looks at the inner cause and not symptoms; we too need to work with wisdom.
3.Wisdom organizes increase
When there is an exponential increase or expansion; wisdom enables one to handle the increase in an organized, meticulous way. The kingdom prospered under Solomon’s reign because wisdom helped him govern structure, manage growth etc. It was a golden era. There was surplus and no inflation. Wisdom knows how to steward what God sends.
Mismanagement destroys people. For example, people invest their fortunes in businesses without fore thought and information and then run into loss. While some reinvest after doing much research.
Lk 14. 28 says, “…. first sit down and estimate the cost ….” Anytime you pick up a project, first sit down and work out its cost.
1Cor 14.40 says, “…. everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” Paul said these words when the entire fellowship was in disorder. He went on to say that God is not a God of disorder or confusion; He is a God of order and clarity.
Prov 21.6 says, “The plans of the diligent lead to profit….” Many lose blessing not through lack of opportunity but lack of management. For example: Good abundant crop, harvested and when brought in, there is not enough infrastructure or storage space in storehouse to accommodate it. Some stored, rest is wasted.
4.Wisdom comes from the Lord
According to 1Kings 4.29, The Lord gave Solomon wisdom. True wisdom is not intelligence; it’s a gift from God that aligns life and truth. Many are clever or shrewd or very intelligent but wisdom comes from the Lord.
When God gives wisdom, decisions become fruitful and paths become clearer.
A few verses to reflect upon….
Pro 2.6 says, “For the Lord gives wisdom.”
Daniel 2.21 says, “…… He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”
Ps.111.10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.”
Those who seek God sincerely often receive guidance generously. A traveler who has a route map will boldly travel unknown routes simply because he has the map with him.
God given wisdom and direction for multiplication. Ask the Holy Spirit for direction and guidance to make right decisions and choices and He’ll answer your prayers.
Let’s pray!
