Focus Verse: Philippians 4.19
19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Declaration: Heavenly resources are released for me today. I will lack no good thing
A fetus in its mother’s womb has needs for which a supply is required by the mother. From the cloth that is needed to wrap a new born to the cloth put over a dead body is provided by God on earth. But there are shortages and lacks which are experienced by many.
Provision comes from God and not because of circumstances. GOd is a true source of all provisions. People and systems are only channels. Since the Source is one fixed person, when one channel is closed God opens another.
As Philippians 4.19 reminds us, Our God will meet all our needs. According to Psalm 23.1, we can boldly declare that we lack nothing because the Lord is our Shepherd.
James 1.17 says “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows”
Although an atheist might say there is no God, he lives on earth breathing the oxygen supplied by God.
Matthew 4.45, “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”
Just like a person cannot say he was not born of a father and mother, everything on earth has a beginning. God is the Creator of earth and He is the only Source from which everything comes.
God’s supplies never fail even when circumstances change. God will open a way when one is closed.
God’s provision matches our needs not our fears. God promises to supply what we need, not what worry imagines. In Matthew 6.25-33, Jesus talks about how we ought not to worry. Worry is equivalent to practical atheism even when we are believers. Although we might say that there is God, for all practical purposes we are saying our God is not able to help us in our problems just like how the Atheists live. ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’ Psalm 34.10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Isaiah 41.10 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Trust replaces fear when we know who provides. Children are not worried about who will provide food when they sit down to eat and God expects the same trust from His children.
Provision often comes through obedience and faith. God’s miracles of supply are connected to acts of obedience: pouring oil, offering bread, casting nets etc. We know how God increased the oil supply for the widow in 1 King 17.13-16. What if she had not obeyed and decided not to pour out the oil from the Jars. Then she would not have received her miracle. In John 6.9-13, we read how a boy gave his lunch box to Jesus and this is what was multiplied. Luke 5.5-6 he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” 5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.” 6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. The supply came because Peter obeyed. Hebrews 11.6 Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Provision produces gratitude and generosity. 2 Corinthians 9.8-11 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written: They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor; their righteousness endures forever.”10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 clearly tells us how to deal with money with a thankful attitude and generosity and be blessed abundantly. The Macedonian church was blessed abundantly because they gave generously and sacrificially. Deuteronomy 8.18 talks about the power to get wealth. 18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. Wealth is an anointing and when this anointing is upon us we will have the ability to create and manage God’s funds on earth and use it for His glory and establish His covenant. Proverbs 11.25 A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Those who have a giving nature will prosper. A reservoir that keeps water becomes stagnant. But a flowing river brings life. God’s provision is meant to flow through us. The Dead Sea has no life as there is no flow as against the Sea of Galilee which flows and gives life. We need to live like the Sea of Galilee and not the Dead Sea because our God is our Provider and Source and He is faithful.
Our God is able to meet all our needs till the day we die
