God Will Provide
God Will Provide
Focus word: Provision
Focus verse: Psalms 23:1
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.”
Declaration: The Lord is my provider, I walk in abundance and contentment today.
Some points about God’s provision:
- God is the source of all provision.
God is where the source of supply comes from. That is what is written in Psalms 23:1
David wrote this Psalm when he did not have any riches. When you declare this verse, don’t look at the current state/situation of life, you should declare it in faith that God will change your tomorrow!
When we declare something before receiving, that is faith.
After you receive it, it becomes a testimony (praise report).
God does not merely give provision, He is the shepherd who gives.
When the shepherd is present, lack is absent.
James 1:17
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
- God provides according to His riches.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
Provision is not limited to our economy, it flows from heavens supply/bounty.
Psalms 34:10
“The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
When we were young, our parents would provide for us and make sure we had all three meals. We didn’t need to stress out about that. Just like that, have faith and understand that God will provide for our every need.
- God provides in every season.
“So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.””
Deuteronomy 2:7
“The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.”
God provides in abundance and in wilderness.
- Obedience positions us for provision.
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Deuteronomy 28:1-2
“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:”
Obey the Lord and He will bless you above all else.
This is called the blessings of obedience as seen in Deuteronomy 28: 1-14
Provision flows where alignment exists!
- God uses many channels to provide.
“You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” So he did what the Lord had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.”
Over here, God tells Elijah that the crow will bring the provision. We see how God used a bird known for not giving but for snatching things away. But God turned it around here.
God uses many channels to provide.
In other words, God may use people, systems, business or miracles but the source is always HIM!
- God’s provision produces gratitude and generosity.
2 things we need to understand here:
- When we receive from God, we need to be filled with thankfulness and gratitude towards God. People are generally thankless - even when they get help from others. Provision is not just to sustain us, it is also to make us grateful to God and also to make us a blessing to others.
- We need to show generosity. We need to give to godly works, as well as poor people. That is how you grow.
