Open Doors
Open Doors
The focus word for today is OPEN DOORS.
Revelation 3:7 says, ‘To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.’
Declare this today: God opens doors before me today that no one can close. Divine access is granted for me.
It is important you say these words aloud. Our words have power, they are literally a spell that can change your lives.
God’s open doors often come with resistance. God anointed Nehemiah and paved the way for him to build the walls and gates of Jerusalem. Just when God did that, resistance also rose from several people, opposing the construction of the walls and gate of Jerusalem. Opportunity and opposition frequently arrive together because the door is about a divine assignment. It’s like going into an airport with tight security where you are singled out with more scrutiny. Even juncture seems to have opposition. You may need to face and overcome several hurdles to reach your destination.
Deuteronomy 28:2 says, ‘All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God’
Psalms 24:7 says, ‘Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.’
Imagine these doors as living beings, craning their necks to see which door will be chosen for the King of Glory to come in. Obedience aligns oneself with heaven’s timings. God opens doors for those who walk in alignment with his will. These doors will open only when you are aligned with the will of God and you are standing in the right place to enter through that door. Alignment with the will of God, triggers access.
This was not resistance from people, but the Spirit of the Lord prevented them from entering the land of Bithynia. Closed doors are not rejections, they are redirections. God shuts doors to protect us from delay, danger and distractions. There are hidden elements that God protects us from, which may not be visible to us. Take for example the signs that we see on the road, that signal us to take detours to reach a certain destination. This detour might mean that we have to travel a few extra kilometers, but it ensures that our journey is safer.
Open doors require faith and courage to step through. Discernment recognizes God's hand. Faith responds to action. An open door still requires someone to walk through it. Opportunity unused becomes opportunity lost.
