Jesus Is Our Jubilee

Everything that happened in the Old Testament is a shadow of the things to happen in the New Testament.
In the Old Testament in the year of Jubilee when the trumpet blows, the captives are set free.
In the New Testament the year of Jubilee is fulfilled in Jesus Christ when Jesus came and died on the cross.
Luke 4: 18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”
Jesus confirms that he was sent to proclaim the Lord’s year.
Isaiah 61:2 ‘to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,’
Today, the Jubilee is not the 365 days in a year but it is a person. Jesus Christ is our Jubilee!
On that day when Jesus stood and proclaimed the above verses, the trumpet blew and he went to towns and villages and preached the good news.
All of us his children have the right to this freedom. He is willing to set us free from all bondages, be it debts, addictions, sickness etc. It is free, he has already paid the price with his precious blood.
Luke 4:21 ‘He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.’
He is eager to free us from the chains that have entrapped us.
2 Corinthians 6:2 ‘For he says, “In the time of my favour I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation.’
Today is your day of salvation! You can be set free. All we need to do is believe in him and accept him into our lives.
