Life is easy with Christ
God has invited everyone to his rest. We have been reading portions from Matthew 11:28 onwards where we have learnt that we all have rest in Christ. We can sleep in peace in the arms of our Lord. All we have to do is leave it all in Jesus’ hands and we will be taken care of.
Jesus’ disciples got the privilege to be with Him for three and a half years when he lived on earth in human form. God was with them in flesh back then but we are even more privileged now since we have him in Spirit with us. Jesus in flesh would have been misunderstood by many as a Man God but now He lives in us in the Spirit form and we know it by revelation.
The journey of the disciples from one shore to the other is equivalent to our life on earth. What happened there physically is now happening to us spiritually. Many Christians believe that life on earth is difficult and burdensome and that there is hope of rest only in Heaven. But the Scriptures doesn't say so.
Jesus once asked His disciples in Luke 22.35, ““When I sent you without purse, bag or sandals, did you lack anything?” Jesus is the same today. His attitude has not changed. God leads us in such a way that we never lack anything. Only Jesus can give us Shalom peace , rest etc.
Without Jesus our life is zero but with Jesus we are heroes. Life is easier with Christ . On the other hand, life is hard with Christ. Our life before knowing Christ is tough as we have no peace or hope but when Jesus comes into our life He not only gives us peace and hope but also gives us the grace and strength to overcome challenges. We must know that the creator of heaven and earth lives inside us in spirit and this realisation makes us bold as lions. The Lion Of Judah who is in us gives us courage.
Everyone who lives in this world is a sinner. Self righteousness is a bigger sin than being a murderer, involved in adultary etc. We see this in the parable of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee. Jesus said in Luke 18:14 “I tell you that this man ( tax collector), rather than the other( Pharisee), went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”
