You Are Not Alone - Part 2

John 14:18 ‘I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.’
Write this verse on the tablets of your heart. He will never leave us or forsake us. This is his promise forever.
When troubles come many teens and youths are seen panicking and crying even though they have their families to support them, they feel they are alone and have no one to help them.
The promise in John 14 is for all of us who feel the same way. We might be in a state of helplessness with no one to support us. But Jesus says, I will not leave you nor forsake you. I will be there with you always. He is omnipotent. He watches over you.
2 Timothy 2:13 ‘if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.’
No matter how far we go from him, he will never leave us. With wide open arms he waits for us to go back to him.
Like how we say - a friend in need is a friend in deed. Our real true friend is Jesus.
A minority with God is transformed into His majority. Hallelujah!
John called himself the disciple loved by God. Almost all the disciples were martyred. But John was not. Many attempts were made to kill him but he escaped to the island of Patmos. In those days only criminals were sent to islands. What was the offence that John did? He preached the Word of God. He lived for Christ.
Revelation 1:9-11 ‘9 I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. 10 On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet, 11 which said: “Write on a scroll what you see and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.”’
John is alone on the island. He had no friends or family. He was in his old age. Everyday he woke up to the same routine. He had no one to speak to. What would be his emotional and mental state? He was also just human.
But on the Lord’s day he says - I was in the Spirit. He was filled with the Holy Spirit.
Remember that Jesus said he will never leave us? He kept his word with John and similarly he will keep his word with us too.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit along with the angels are always with you.
In the following verses we find that even in his old age-
He hears God
He writes letters ( Even in the old age he is fruitful)
This is a reminder for us. The feeling of loneliness is not the reality. God is watching over you. His promises are always true. All we need is to do is believe that he is there with us.
