Blessing In Breaking
We might face many injustices in this world, but God says that revenge is His. We must not take things into our own hands and retaliate.
In the life of Esther, her uncle Mordecai, who was a good man, brought her up to a high level. Haman, who was jealous of Mordecai, made a plan to execute him. However, God intervened in such a way that Haman was executed on that same platform. This is our God. He will bring us justice in the right way at the right time.
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.
Promotion comes from the Lord.
What are the things we must do to be a channel of blessing ? What are the principles involved?
In John 6:5-13 we read about how Jesus multiplied the bread and the fish.
The act of obedience from one little boy blessed so many people as it was handed over to the hands of Jesus. Everything that Jesus touches, will be blessed. When the boy gave his food to Jesus, it became a great, history making blessing that is mentioned in all four gospels. Even today, we speak about it. It all started with one act of obedience from a little boy.
The children that were brought to Jesus in the following passages may have first been touched by midwives, then their parents, then teachers and many other people. However, they were blessed when Jesus laid His hands on them once. Whoever Jesus touches is blessed.
Luke 9:16 “Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people.”
Jesus broke the bread into pieces, and this was where the blessing and the multiplication happened. Even in our lives, we like his blessings, but we don't like the breaking. However, we must realise that this brokenness brings a blessing. When we go through painful experiences, we must know that it is for our blessing.
Jesus said that He is the bread of life. He was broken to become a blessing for the whole human race. He was broken and multiplied in blessings for all of us like the bread.
There is a blessing following the breaking!
Whatever we give into Jesus’ hands, will be blessed. We must surrender ourselves, our talents, our belongings to Jesus. We must give ourselves fully, sometimes even sacrificially.
