My Future Blessings
Revelation 4:1 “After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.”
John, the Apostle was given an opportunity to see the spiritual realm. The meaning of the word “Revelation” is to see beyond the curtain. John was given a preview into the future. Here, the focus should be on what will happen to the children of God, not the rest.
This passage talks about a door that is kept open in heaven for us who are God’s children! Even when so many in this world face closed doors in their life, for God’s children this is a prophecy to them who believe.
Most of us worry about the future and think up bad scenarios, imagining closed doors before us. We stress when we don’t know the future or what’s going to come. We live without peace. But we must realise that we have Jesus with us and He is all we need.

However, we have good news as the Bible tells us what will happen to the children of God in the future! God has designed a very good future for each of us. We might not know the details, but we do know that our future is in Christ and that future is good!
Colossians 1:27 “To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Therefore, Christ’s future is our future as well!
Going back to the passage in the book of ‘Revelation’, when we read the rest of the chapters; we see two futures: one for those who do not accept Jesus. They will be thrown into a burning lake of fire in the future. However, the second future is for those who have accepted Christ; for them, God has designed a beautiful city, one we have never seen before, and they will reside with God there. We have a great future designed by God for us!
The only people group who has a hope in this world today are the Children Of God! The future belongs to God’s children.
