The Applied Word of God: Part 1
Some books are informative while some others are reformative but the Bible is transformative. The Word of God is not just for reading but it is to be applied to one’s life.
What is the significance or importance of a Bible ?
It is not a religious book. In a religious conference, the delegates were asked to lay down their religious book on a table. A Man Of God did not put His Bible alongside the other books. When questioned, he said that he did so because he did not consider the Bible to be a religious book.
The Bible is a miracle book. This is the greatest book ever to be written on earth. It is very old but the contents of the Bible are still relevant in our time. It has out sold every other book. It has been translated to the most languages of the earth. It deals with the past eternity to the future eternity. It touches the heights of heavens and depths of hell. The bible tells us all about heaven and hell.
Although it is known as the religious book of Christians, it is actually the most authentic revelation of God to man about Himself, Heaven, Satan, Hell, Salvation and other most important topics. We might have many opinions about God but who would know God better than God Himself and in the Bible, God reveals Himself.
The background work for writing the Bible .i.e. the setting and preparation involved took 2500 years. The actual writing of the Bible was 1600 years; it was started in 1500 BC and completed in 100 AD. And so the Bible is a miracle book. It is not a single book : it is a library of books. Biblia (plural) contains 66 books and the actual author is God Himself who is in Heaven.
