The Applied Word of God: Part 14

Isaiah 40:3 'A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God.'

How many of us will stand for God? To be the voice of God for many in this world. 
The one who stands boldly for God, his generations will be blessed. 

Joshua 1:8 'Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips;meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.'

The book of Joshua is the book of success.
Just before the book of Joshua, there is the book of Judges where we see victories and failures. 

No matter what you do or what your age is, you need to meditate on the Word. 

We who have been baptized and received Jesus as our personal saviour, have double citizenship. 
One on earth and the other in heaven. 
God desires us to think of heavenly things while on Earth. 
Meditate on the Word day and night. This does not mean that you shouldn't do any other work.
But frequently stay connected with the Word of God. We should live with and on the Word. 
Prosperity and success are from meditation and confession of the Word. 

What happens when you meditate on the Word?
In Hebrew, the word used for meditation is 'Haga'. Which means ponder, imagine, speak, talk. 
It is during this meditation you receive new revelations.

Psalms 1:1-3 'Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
    which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.'

Psalms 1 gives the instructions and principles for one's life. 

There are three important points mentioned here:
1.Blessed is the one who does not walk in the step with the wicked 
2. Or stand in the way that sinners take
3. Or sit in the company of mockers.

Do not walk, stand or sit with such people. Instead run towards your goal that Christ has kept for you.

You should delight in the law of the Lord. Or delight in the Word of the Lord. 

Psalms 1:3 talks about the results of the people who meditate on the Word of God.

It will be difficult for a person who meditates daily on the Word of God to fall back or go into depression. 

'whose leaf does not wither' means health and healing. 

Jeremiah 33:6 'Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security'
