Too Good To Be True
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Jesus Christ is the only one who can save us: He is both man and God. There are four steps on how we can sustain our new creation life in Christ Jesus
What is the real good news?
Gospel is good news. It means that God has forgiven all our past sins and will forgive all our sins that we do daily. Not only does He forgive, He also gives us eternal life with Him in Heaven after our life on earth is over. This is too good to be true news to believe. It is like winning a lottery without even buying a lottery ticket. The eternal implications of salvation/ the Gospel is beyond our understanding.
1 John 3.1,2 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
We are like Jesus in spirit and one day we will have glorious bodies when He comes the second time.
Once we have received Jesus as our Saviour, what is our life going to be?
Colossians 2.6 says ‘So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
We did not see Jesus die on the Cross but we believe what happened in history 2000 years ago by faith. We are expected to continue in this faith daily and be like a deep rooted tree in Christ that will help us not to fall when we face storms in our life. If our focus is on Christ, we will not sink in the waters. Those who look at His face will be radiant and not be ashamed.
In Ephesians 3.17, Paul says “so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,”
We must be built up in Christ and have a strong faith. The God who has helped us once will again help us.
“and overflowing with thankfulness”: people are normally thankless. We must take our life as an opportunity to be thankful for everything God has given us. How can we thank God enough for all that He does for us? But we are stingy in giving to God though He gave His life for us.
It is by faith that we got saved and we must continue in faith as Romans 1.17 says, “ my righteous will live by faith”.

- Knowing
- Counting ourselves dead with Him and alive in Him
- Offering ourselves to Him
- Walking in the Spirit
