Soul - Mind, Will and Emotions
When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit comes and resides in our spirit, and His life flows from our spirit to our soul and body, liberating us from the disparate struggles we face in life. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free!!
The Body
Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
We are a splendid creation of God and it’s stupendous how our body, composed of different organs, tissues and cells function each day and for several decades. We have the responsibility to honour our bodies. Yet people don’t value human lives, killing each other or carrying out abortions.
1 Corinthians 6:19,20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your bodies.
Biblically the human body is described as mortal bodies, jars of clay, outer man, earthly tent, the flesh. God desires to make our bodies His dwelling place and therefore we should not live in fleshly standards, rather offer ourselves as a living sacrifice and be a carrier of God’s glory.
Romans 6:13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
The Soul
The soul comprises mind, will and emotions; and the brain is regarded as the CPU and the mind is regarded as the software of the soul. The mind is a thought factory, it has intellect and thoughts and it works 24*7. It's impossible for the human mind to not think, but we ought to nurture godly thoughts and thereby renew our minds. If we don’t think, we create an empty space where evil spirits can dwell. A mind thinks around 30000 thoughts a day and if it is toxic, the result will also be negative and toxic and it will affect our body and personality.
Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
God’s thoughts are recorded in the Bible and as we saturate our mind with the Word; our lives will totally change and we will have a healthy body and sound mind.
Sozo is the Greek word for salvation, yet its root meaning goes beyond just the forgiveness of sins, and includes being physically healed of diseases and to be delivered from your enemy. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is not a means to attain a visa to Heaven, but to bring down Heaven within you and to live in the heavenly atmosphere while on Earth.
Ephesians 2:6,7 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
Read the Word, Hear the Word, Meditate the Word, Confess the Word and Obey the Word of God. That’s the secret to a renewed mind and transformed life
Carnality refers to living according to the fives senses but God has designed us to live according to the revelatory knowledge we get in our spirit, for which we need to invest time and discipline ourselves to intake more of the Word.
