How to Increase Joy

We know that there are various hormones in our body. One among them is the joy hormone. Endorphins in your body are the ones that control happiness. There are ways in which you can stimulate these hormones - through exercise and laughter. 

God has raised many to have such a ministry. To impart happiness and joy into the lives of people. This is very evident. 

Illustration: Ps. Damien was an introvert. He used to spend hours alone in his room reading books written by men of God. But once he got out to ministry, that changed him. He started smiling more and more. There was joy inside. The Holy Spirit brought about this transformation in him. 

Joy is a habit of the kingdom of God. The fruit of the Spirit is ‘joy’ and not sadness or depression. 
When you wake up everyday you need to command blessings on your day. This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. 

Happiness is contagious. When you laugh in joy of the Holy Spirit it spreads to others and changes the atmosphere. 

Another hormone is dopamine. It helps to accomplish goals. There are short term and long term goals that each one of us have. 

Do not live an aimless life. 

Serotonin hormone increases when you do good to others. We cannot live on this planet without helping others. In some way or the other we are constantly helping people without even realising it. 
Everyday in the morning when your mother or wife prepares tea for you, she is actually helping you. 

Giving is in God’s nature. He gives us the best at all times. He gave us the Holy Spirit. No person can beat God in giving. We need to learn from our Father’s nature. 

Do not think that you are giving for the church but you are giving to God for yourself. Never be selfish in giving. Overcome your pride.
