My Father Will Always Be There For Me
1 Corinthians 1:9 says, ‘God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.’
God the Father has called us into a fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 13 and 14 also talk about this fellowship where we join through our fellowship with the Holy Spirit
1 John also focuses on and highlights that the fellowship with Christ is, in fact, a fellowship with the Holy Trinity.
1 John 14:23 says, ‘Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.’
In all these references, the essence is that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit together create a fellowship for us and guide us ahead.
Several years back in Armenia, Samuel and Danielle, a couple, had a son, Armanda. He was a little kid, and his parents got him ready for school every day. Whenever the little boy would leave for school, his father would tell him that ‘No matter what happens, I will always be there for you.’
One day, a few hours after Armanda left for school, they heard the shocking news that there was a massive earthquake in their city. Petrified, they turned on the radio and the local news stations only to learn that the school building that their son went to had completely collapsed. They quickly drove to the school and saw the debris of the entire building. The parents wept and wept for the loss of their kids. Samuel decided that in case his son is stranded and stuck in between the debris, he has to save him. He started picking off the stones and encouraged other parents to join in this rescue operation. The onlookers said there was no point as the building had completely collapsed, and no one could have survived this. But Samuel continued to move the beams and stones and tried to find his son as per the location of his classroom. Soon it was nighttime, and the onlookers started going back home. Other parents even started putting flowers and bouquets at the site of the disaster. It was past midnight, and Samuel continued the search in the light. He continued to do this till daybreak, and as he progressed, he heard a little boy cry for help. On hearing his son’s cry, he dug faster and deeper as the son continued to cry. As the father realised that he was closer, he asked his son to get up and come to him. But his son said that his friends were also stuck with him. Soon Samuel realised that apart from his son, 13 other kids were also stuck under the debris. One by one, he took out each of the kids, including his son. When Samuel brought his son out, Armanda said, ‘I wasn’t afraid because you promised me that you would be there for me.’
This story goes to show a father’s love and commitment for his child.
Our Father in Heaven says just this to us. He tells us that He is there for us and has made this promise to us. God who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. This means that we can completely trust Him.
Deuteronomy 7:9 says, ‘Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.’
Our Lord is the faithful God, and He keeps the covenant of love for a thousand generations. This generation of love lasts for a thousand generations, which means Jesus keeps His promises for generation after generation. A good example of this is the covenant of love given to the generations of Abraham, and the promise God gave, stands true even now through Christ Jesus.
Psalm 37:28 says, ‘For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever, but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off;’
Our Lord is a God of generations and will take care of all and protect us all forever. He is the Ancient of Days, the Rock of Ages etc. Our Father in heaven, if there is a need for us, will take care of us. His love will cover and hold us inside it. Love covers everything including the multitude of sins. Remember that God loves you.
Trust that your Father in heaven at the right time will save and protect you.
1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear.
If you make this a foundational belief in your life, every fear will be cast out.
