But he(Stephen), full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Stephen looked up and saw open heavens and the glory of God with Jesus waiting to receive him but if he had looked down he would have seen the people who were cruelly stoning him to death.

Jesus is the lifter of our heads and we need to acknowledge and live it.
