The Principle Of Perspective

Past few days, we have been looking at Ecclesiastes 11.
We all need wisdom. We get that from the Word, from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of wisdom.
Isaiah 11:2
The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Wisdom is of great value and like wealth, we must collect wisdom. When we walk with wise men, wisdom is imparted.
Ecclesiastes 11:7-8
However many years anyone may live, let them enjoy them all. But let them remember the days of darkness, for there will be many. Everything to come is meaningless.
In Solomon's time there wasn't a revelation like we have now regarding the Word of God. Christ hadn't come into the world yet. Christ is wisdom and after His coming, the mysteries of the Kingdom of God have been revealed. But some principles never change.
The Principle of Perspective
Enjoy life today but an old age is coming. Whatever we accomplish here, one day we have to leave it behind and go. We should know about these truths of life.
1 Timothy 6:6-11
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness.
In the above passage, Paul is giving instructions to Timothy regarding wealth and how to live. We brought nothing and will take nothing. Live with contentment, and in everything, in lack or in abundance, always give thanks to God. The love of money is a root of evil and has been a reason for people to fall away from the faith. Paul tells Timothy that he must flee from such desires and instead pursue righteousness.
Command those who are rich not to be arrogant. There are teachings for the rich and for the poor. Those who are rich should not put their hope in wealth for there is no surety in riches, it is here today and gone tomorrow. Instead, they must be taught to put their hope in God who richly provides for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds and be willing to share what they have received.
