Rise Up

Resist the devil and submit to God.

John 5:8-9
Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. The day on which this took place was a Sabbath,

Those who were sick were at the pool and there was a man there for 38 years. Jesus went up to him & told him to pick up his mat and walk.
Jesus said three things:
Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.
For the man, all these three are impossible. He had been bedridden for 38 long years. But he obeyed without giving in to his human reasoning and for his obedience he got his reward, which was his healing.
 
If we decide to get up, God will do the rest. Are you ready to walk? 
We see in vs 9 that at once, the man was cured. He picked up his mat and walked. This was on the sabbath. There are some things that God does and some that we must do. Grace is from God and our part is to believe. No one else will do our part. Get up.

Jesus told the blind man to wash in the pool of Siloam. The man washed his eyes and he received his healing. That was his part. When Jesus healed the ten lepers he told them to go to the priest and be examined. They had to do that, that was their part. When Jesus raised Lazarus, He ordered Lazarus to rise up, He did not roll the stone away, Jesus only gave the order to rise up.
There are some things that we must do. If we don’t do our part, things will stay the same. Without doing their part, people can stay the same all their life without receiving their healing, their blessing, their miracle, their breakthrough.

Matthew 12:13
Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” So he stretched it out and it was completely restored, just as sound as the other.

Jesus told the man to stretch out his hand. The man stretched his hand, no one did it for him. If he had to reason it or show unbelief, he wouldn’t be healed. If you want an increase or deliverance, do your part.

Acts 3:6-8
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

Resist the devil, do your part. Take steps of faith, else your life may continue the same till the grave.
