The Anchor Of Hope
The Bible is a book of hope. We all should meditate on the Word in the morning before or while starting our day. For example, when we are driving to work we can listen to a sermon, making our car a worship centre! Instead of listening to things like comedy or reels that don’t help us, we should fill our minds with God’s Word.
John 15:3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
God’s Word gives us hope. Without hope, how does a person live? Our ultimate hope is that Jesus defeated even the final enemy, death.
The Bible is a book of hope.
Hebrews 6:19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
An anchor makes us think of a boat on sea. It is a huge metal piece that holds the boat in one place to stop. When the winds and storms of life come against us, it is this hope that anchors us in place to hold our ground. It keeps us firm and secure.
Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”
Your life is secure because God will never leave or forsake you.
2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Paul knew that God would keep him safe till he finishes his race and ensure that he reaches the heavenly kingdom. From Jesus’ birth, the enemy was trying to take away His life.
The devil hates the first three verses in the Bible and the last three verses. The first three talk about creation and the last three talk about the defeat of Satan. He tries to convince people that these two concepts are false!
But we know that God keeps us safe and secure here on earth till we reach the heavenly kingdom. This is our hope. The boat of your life will not sink or be destroyed because you have a strong anchor!
