The focus of this study is on the birth of a New Era through Jesus. From the period of Adam to Abraham which is about 2000 years is known as the Dispensation period  or the period of the Father; the period of 2000 years between Abraham to Christ is known as the period of the Son and the current period from Pentecost till date, is known as the age of the Holy Spirit and there is nothing beyond this period!

It is in this current period, God enters into us and dwells in us. God could not live in us earlier. This was made possible by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. Now, our body is the sanctuary and temple of God and the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we are living in a period of fulfilment! We should not miss this time. That is why Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 5.1 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, 2 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.

We must redeem our time and live according to what Jesus said. We should not live according to the world but according to the Word!
 
Revolution or transformation starts when we put our faith in Christ alone. Christ should be the focal point in our lives because it is only in Christ that all promises will be fulfilled. And through Him all these promises will be released into our lives.

Galatians 3:14 says,
He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 1:20 says, 
 For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.

Let us take a look at Isaiah 61:1-2;
(1)The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, (2) to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

7 different kinds of ministries of Jesus:
  1. Preaching good news to the poor. 
  2. Proclaiming the year of God’s favour. (2 Corinthians 6:2 - we are living in the good times of the Lord!)
  3. Proclaiming freedom for the prisoners. 
  4. Proclaiming sight for the blind. 
  5. Releasing the oppressed. 
  6. Binding of the broken hearted. 
  7. Comforting all who mourn.

7 major roles of Jesus:
  1. Jesus is the greatest preacher. 
He preached the greatest good news. There have been revolutions and revolts from many great preachers in the world but when Jesus preached there were transformations, lives were changed and saved. Jesus was not only preaching about life on earth but He was preaching about the future kingdom of God.

  1. Jesus is the greatest psychiatrist. 
He heals all the mental and emotional problems and sickness and illness. He can heal people who are going through mental or nervous breakdowns, those who are facing life shattering problems.

  1. Jesus is the greatest physician. 
He practises general medicine, surgery, ENT, gynaecology, oncology, neurology, he is the best in every speciality!

  1. Jesus is the greatest liberator. 
He broke many prisons and set the prisoners free. It can be internal prisons like addictions to alcohol, pornography, substances and so on.

  1. Jesus is the greatest redeemer. 
He can redeem anything that you have lost in your life be it a person or a job or a property or even the time you have lost.

  1. Jesus is the greatest reconciler. 
He reconciled the whole human race with the Father. Jesus is the only mediator!

  1. Jesus is the greatest peacemaker. 
He started the world’s greatest peace movement. He is the Prince of Peace! God said “I am leaving you my Shalom” and Jesus was the peace that our Father left for us. Peace will be your governor in life!
