Do You Want To Be God’s Friend?
Psalm 34:8 says Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Those who have tasted the Lord, get to share the testimony of how sweet, how the Lord tastes!
1 John 1:1 says; (1)That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.
From this scripture portion we read that they understood because they were able to;
The Word of God gives an intoxicating experience! Only those who experience it can give a testimony! John the Apostle gave a testimony and that testimony is still alive in the Word. Just like this, God gives us all the opportunities to receive experiences from Him so we have our testimony!
Generally, people and doctors talk about life but the Bible talks to us about ‘eternal life’.
1 John 1:2-4 says; (2) The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us. (3) We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. (4) We write this to make our joy complete.
Who are your friends? As believers and children of God, we need to be careful of those we interact with and maintain good relationships in life. We all have 24 hours in a day. The people we socialise with is an important choice we need to make as this directly influences our lives. We need to have divine friendships in our lives so we can have divine experiences.
John 15:14 says “You are my friends if you do what I command.”
Our relationship with God has many different faces. It can be a relationship of a creator and his creation, or that of a father and son, or that of a shepherd and his sheep, there are plenty like this! But the one relationship we forget most is that of being friends with God.
Friendship with God starts with obeying Him!
When we grow in obedience to God, our friendship and love relationship with Him also grows.
Genesis 22:12 says; “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
How do we know that we are friends of God?
God will reveal His secrets to us!
John 15:15 says; “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.”
What is friendship with God?
He will reveal and share His heart's secrets with you!
So be obedient and keep an open heart!
