Following The Voice Of God
Our lives will take a different course if we do not value God’s voice. Many fail to make the right decision regarding different matters of life - job, marriage,etc. It was Adam who first heard the voice of God and since Eve failed to value God’s voice, the whole of mankind has been subjected to the consequences of the great fall.
Though we hear many voices while in this world, the secret to a victorious life is recognising and responding to the voice of God. You can blossom like a lotus among thorns and choose to be the light in this dark world, spreading positivity!
John 10:1-6 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them.
We hear a lot of unwanted sounds in this world, especially through social media. We need to shut ourselves from all the voices of strangers. God speaks to His children throughout the day, but they don’t have ears to hear. Just as we easily recognize the voice of those with whom we often associate, we need the grace to recognize God’s voice.
John 10:25-28 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
You are so safe in the hands of Jesus, the Chief Shepherd. May this be your prayer today: Lord, help me to recognize your voice and follow you.Amen!
