What Is Worshipping In Truth?
Jesus came to this Earth and changed everything about worship and initiated a new worship style - worshipping in spirit and in truth. Worship is a lifestyle and is not limited to a Sunday morning or for a limited period of time or singing a few fast and slow songs. Our whole being - body, spirit and soul must be involved in worship. Whatever we do, we do it all for the glory of God.
To worship in truth means having the revelation of the truth from the Word about God.
Jesus mentioned in His great priestly prayer - ‘your Word is truth’. And that Word is Jesus.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Revelation is formed by the truth that is embedded in us. The depth of worship depends on the degree of revelation we have of the One true God. True worship is our heart’s response to realisation of who God is.
Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”
Spontaneous worship arises as the revelation from the Word of God hits our spirit.
John 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
The Word of God plays a great role in worship and sets our worship in fire!
