God Will Direct Your Paths
We can worship our God in the midst of any situation; it’s the heart’s attitude and not the ambience/ atmosphere.
Who is better than David in the Bible from whom we can cultivate this lifestyle??
Psalm 34:1
I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
David did sin, but he repented and returned to his God. Worship was his lifestyle. He wrote a psalm while he sought shelter under King Abimelech and pretended to be insane, he wrote a psalm when he fled from his own son, Absalom. He wrote a psalm when he was all alone in the forest. He wrote a song of praise when God gave him great victories in his battles. He wrote songs when he had nothing and even when God gave him everything and established his throne! He made up his mind to extol the Lord at all times!
Worship is a determination/ a decision. May we be able to meaningfully say, ‘The reason I live is to worship Him.’
Proverbs 3:5-6
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
Normally, we tend to lean on a person who is stronger than us. Here, it is written that we can lean on God because He is strong and trust Him and be confident in Him totally.
We may be able to breathe, eat/ drink, work and achieve many things even if we don’t pray/ worship a single day this year; but we won’t be able to achieve lasting and great profits in accordance to God’s will by doing so. Apart from Him, we can’t do anything that has a lasting value in the Kingdom. Let’s have a tender dependency on Jesus, our Lord. As years go by, our dependence on God and prayer life must increase and not decrease. In all your ways know, recognize and acknowledge Him.
In Exodus 33, God told Moses that He would not go with the Israelites any longer but instead send an angel as they were stiff necked people. God was afraid that in His anger he would destroy them on the way.
Exodus 33:15-16
Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
Will a day without the Lord be counted as a day? Will a life without Jesus be counted as life? Let this year be a year where we depend on God in even the littlest things and pray more. When we do so, God will direct and make straight and plain our paths as we lean on and trust in Him. He will become the Director of our life and then we will see great victory in our life.
