Trusting God Is Honouring Him
This week, our focus is on the prerequisites of worship. We learnt that worshiping is the employment of the redeemed. Worship is a lifestyle!
The Prerequisites of Worship are;
Psalms 4:5
Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.
A person who has come to worship needs to have trust in God. Similarly, one who approaches the presence of God must have a sense of devotion to God. A worshiper must completely and wholly trust in the Lord!
Psalm 37:7
'Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.'
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations where we do not receive an answer from God, and we become impatient. We end up acting by ourselves instead of trusting in God and His timing. So, do not do anything in life without trusting in God!
Jeremiah 17:5
'This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. '
Hebrews 11:6
'And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.'
Once you believe that God is present in your life, the rewards will follow. It is important to remember that God’s blessings will take time to come into one’s life. Trusting in the Lord is not like wishing on a wish-granting genie. Results will take time, God works in His time, not ours! If you want results, pursue God!
We know the story of how Moses and the Israelites wandered the desert for 40 years. Through this, we saw how the unbelievers perished, and the faithful reached the promised land. During those long years, they received Manna as a ration. Upon reaching the promised land, they received milk and honey.
Over here, Manna represents Miracles, and Milk & Honey represents Blessings. Every day, miracles take place, but keep in mind that miracles are not God’s plan. Miracles take place in crisis situations. God’s ultimate plan for us is blessing!
The second prerequisite to worship God is TRUST IN GOD!
The Prerequisites of Worship are;
- REPENTANCE AND RECONCILIATION - If there is a conflict in your relationship with God, it will lead to conflicts in our relationships with others. (Ps. 66: 17-18, Mt 5:23-24, 1 John 4:20)
- TRUST
