Worship Brings Blessing
The song ‘I’m coming back to the heart of worship’ written by Matt Redman brought a great wind of revival in worship. It was not a change that was constrained to his church, but brought in a revival all across in different churches across the country.
This week the focus is going to be on understanding the end outcome of worship. Worship can lead to several outcomes, but today we will focus on how worship brings us blessings. You can open the floodgates of blessings through worship.
There are two aspects to worship, vertical and horizontal dimensions. The vertical dimension represents celebration and the horizontal dimension represents proclamation. When the two come together, the two dimensions of worship intersect and this leads to a complete and full worship. Many believers don’t experience the fullness of worship and big farewell to the world devoid of this experience.
Results and impacts of worship are big. The biggest result is blessings.
Exodus 23:25-26 says, ‘25 Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.’
Even the blessings on the food we eat is connected to worshiping our God. If the food we eat should be a blessing, then we must thank and worship the Father, who gave us this food which is why Paul said you must eat food with praise and thanksgiving. Through our worship we are thanking the giver, we are acknowledging his blessings. Anything we eat, give thanks to the Lord.
The other connection this verse makes is the significance between worship and good health. Worship is connected to health and healing and keeps away diseases. Be careful to not worship anything other than the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Be careful to never dedicate sacrifices to any other God. You should never bow before or pray before other gods. If you ever got into a commitment such as that with any one other than our Lord, before you came into your faith, then the minute you renounce your old ways, those commitments are also broken and you are set free.
When you worship God, you are blessed immensely, your food on the table is blessed, your health is blessed, your womb is blessed and you will enjoy a full life span.
Deuteronomy 11:13-15 says, ‘13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul— 14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil. 15 I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.’
God promises abundant blessings for those who obey his commandments and worship him. Worship brings blessings. It opens the floodgates of heavens and pours out showers in season.
