Walk To Your Financial Wellbeing
We’ve covered four among the seven areas of life that we need to deal with for a successful life - spiritual growth, mental growth, health and well-being, family life.
Today, we’ll learn the fifth area - financial wellbeing. It’s not sinful to live in poverty, but the purpose of Jesus becoming poor on the Cross was to make us rich. (2 Corinthians 8:9)
We need to prosper in every area of our lives and that includes financial well being.
1. Financial wellbeing includes wisdom for stewardship, provision, generosity and God’s blessing over our finances.
Proverbs 10:22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, without painful toil for it.
It is the blessing of the Lord, and not burdensome toil that brings sustainable prosperity. Toiling is a part of the fall and curse which God mentioned to man in Genesis 3:17. When God blesses us, He can bring prosperity and wealth into our lives without the stress and hardship that often accompanies worldly success. God can give us financial freedom/ financial breakthroughs. God is our ultimate Provider and so, trust God to supply what you need.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
The Philippians helped Apostle Paul in his missionary work by sending financial gifts which were a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God and it’s in that context Apostle Paul says that God will supply all their needs.
2. Putting God first in your finances brings blessing and abundance.
Proverbs 3:9,10 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops;then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
3. Wealth building is possible through God's strength and guidance
Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth,
God can give you the enabling power and the anointing to produce wealth. Many chase get rich quick methods, but that won’t last.
4. Generosity leads to overflowing returns. God rewards the open-handed.
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
The Kingdom principle is just opposite to the worldly principles, and according to the Kingdom, the way up is way down (humility). Similarly, when we give, it’s not a loss, but a profit according to the Kingdom.
5. Financial wellbeing allows you to abound in doing good.
2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
6. Giving to the Lord invites overflowing blessings and financial protection.
Malachi 3:10,11 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty.
7. God is faithful to sustain the righteous through every season.
Psalm 37:25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.
May you all be blessed in your finances and may your generosity lead to overflowing returns. Bless you in Jesus’ Name!
