FOCUS VERSE: Hebrews 6: 19 - We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.
DECLARATION: Hope anchors my soul today; I refuse to be shaken by fear or doubt.
Biblical hope is confident expectation: This hope is confident trust in God’s faithfulness.
Romans 15: 13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
John 6: 63 - It is the Spirit that gives life.
Titus 1: 2 - God does not lie.
Psalm 130: 5 - I wait for the Lord and in His word I put my hope.
Hope stands on God’s character which is unchanging. Man’s moods may change according to seasons
James 1: 17 - He does not change like shifting shadows.
Hope anchors the soul during storms: An anchor goes deep into the sea to get hold of and be embedded amongst the rocks. This keeps the ship steady and unmoving. Hope in God alone keeps our soul steady and anchored during every season. Anchors do not keep away storms but keep the ship steady in dangerous storms. Hope keeps the soul secure in God.
Psalm 62: 5 - My hope comes from Him.
Lamentations 3: 21 -
Romans 5: 5 - Hope does not put us to shame.
Hope gives stability to our inner life. Hope keeps us connected to a security beyond every source.
Hope sees beyond present circumstances: Faith sees God at work even when there is no visible change.
2 Corinthians 4: 18 - So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Micah 7: 7 - But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Saviour; my God will hear me.
Job 19: 25 - I know my Redeemer lives.
Unshakeable hope produces endurance: Hope strengthens perseverance. People quickly lose their strength when they lose hope.
Romans 12: 12 - Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
1 Thessalonians 1: 3 - We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labour prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 40: 31 - Those who hope in the Lord renew their strength.
Hope fuels spiritual resilience. You may be beaten down by circumstances with no chance of rising up, but here it is hope that helps you to shake off and get back on your feet.
