Restoration To Your Soul
Psalms 23:1-6 ‘The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.’
In verse 3, we read, “He refreshes my soul.” A human soul consists of a mind, will, and emotions. God can bring renewal and restoration to all three areas.
If God is your Shepherd, you will lack nothing in life—this is His promise.
The mind often carries wounds that take years to heal. A broken mind cannot be easily restored, but the Word assures us that God can heal and refresh it.
It is the responsibility of our Creator, our Shepherd, to restore us—and He does it again and again. He will turn your dryness into a flourishing garden.
Psalms 32:8 ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.’
His loving gaze will guide and instruct you. You do not have to make decisions alone.
Matthew 18:12-14 ‘“What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.’
God longs to see His children safe and whole. When a shepherd sees an injured sheep, he carries it on his shoulders until it is healed. In the same way, God carries you through your pain until you are fully restored. He sees your heart, your mind, and your emotions.
Isaiah 40:29-31 ‘He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’
Jeremiah 31:25 ‘I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.”
Summary
No matter how broken or weary you feel, God is your Shepherd, ready to restore and refresh your soul. He sees your pain, carries you through struggles, and renews your strength. You are never alone—His loving guidance is always with you.
