This Can Be Your Story - Part 12

During our journey through the life of Joseph we looked closely into portions from Genesis 37 and will now continue to the 50th chapter.
It's important to understand that all the characters in the Bible are very much real human beings like us, who all had flesh related temptations like all of us but what makes them distinct is how they lived and worked closely with God. This fact about their life makes each unique and one such person is Joseph.
God always uses all those who are walking closely with him to extraordinary levels.
Most people go through various difficulties and phases from childhood either with close siblings or relatives which may have led to a situation now or before that may have required major change. Joseph was a person who went through more or less the same scenarios. But his fear of the Lord and his close relationship with the Lord helped him fight all battles and come out strong. Therefore it's very important for each of us to be obedient to God and walk in the ways the Holy Spirit leads us and for sure we will all rise like Joseph.
We all may have all sorts of temptation and evil desires but like Joseph learn to flee away from sins. His brothers plotted the worst for him and even provided false evidence of his blood stained robe to make his father believe his demise. It is important to note despite all the bitter circumstances Joseph faced he never remained down but the quality in his character increased and became finer.
Genesis 40:1-3
Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt. Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined.
God always works in the background. We may never be able to see that with our visible eyes.
Genesis 40:8-10
“We both had dreams,” they answered, “but there is no one to interpret them.” Then Joseph said to them, “Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.” So the chief cupbearer told Joseph his dream. He said to him, “In my dream I saw a vine in front of me, and on the vine were three branches. As soon as it budded, it blossomed, and its clusters ripened into grapes.
Here we can see how God allowed everything. This clearly tells us that we should always remember God at all times. Hold on to his name and rely on him fully. Undoubtedly such individuals will be raised.
Genesis 40:11-13
Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes, squeezed them into Pharaoh’s cup and put the cup in his hand.” “This is what it means,” Joseph said to him. “The three branches are three days. Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your position, and you will put Pharaoh’s cup in his hand, just as you used to do when you were his cupbearer
This portion portrays Joseph’s other dream and it's all on how God is going to restore. We should all have this nature to help everyone and indeed this will cause life to flourish with many blessings.
Genesis 40:14
But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison
Especially during our ministry and our work, we must always look out for the welfare of others more than our own. Pray for others genuinely.
People are generally thankless; they tend to forget all the help given quickly. Although Joseph expected a call from Pharaoh’s for the help he once did; none remembered or God had a better plan for us . Help may never happen when we need it but at God's own will.
In conclusion we all should relate to the ordeals that Joseph went through, the hurt from his own brothers, jealousy and also the false accusation at the workplace, nothing made him fall. Similarly we should also determine that nothing is the end of our story.
