Come Out Of Your Limited Thinking

There might be many factors that prevent a person from progressing in His/ Her life /ministry.
Proverbs 23.7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.
This is about any man. What gives a person direction in his life is based on the dominant thought he has in his heart. If a person thinks that he is a sick person all the time, he will remain sick. The same goes about a person who repeatedly thinks that he is poor, will live in poverty. Even though he might pray and fast, his thinking will limit him.
The situation will change only when there is a renewal of our mind.
Romans 12.1,2 says “1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is —his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Many do not focus on renewing their thought process, instead they focus on external things. And they wonder why there is no change in their life even after they attend church regularly and do many things for the Lord. For a change to happen in one’s life, there must be a change/ renewal of the mind.
Psalm 78.40-42 40 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert! 41 Yes, again and again they tempted God, And limited the Holy One of Israel. 42 They did not remember His power: The day when He redeemed them from the enemy,43 When He worked His signs in Egypt, And His wonders in the field of Zoan;
People can limit God. God is unlimited: He is a limitless personality. But they limited the limitless God. They limited the various ways in which God could have helped them through unbelief. The same thing is true of many who think that God cannot help them. We can bind God’s hands and prevent Him from helping us if our dominant thought is that we cannot come out of the sick/ poor/…. Situations that we are in. Our negative thoughts/ unbelief grieves the Holy Spirit and prevents the unlimited operations of God to work in us.
This is the danger that the Israelites faced. The Israelites had seen and experienced God’s miracles, signs and wonders in their lives but when they faced a new situation, “They did not remember His power”.
Mark 6. 1-6 1 Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. 2 And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, “Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! 3 Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him.
4 But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honour except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.” 5 Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 And He marvelled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching.
Jesus received honour in many places and he was able to do mighty works there. But when he reached His home town, they criticised Him and did not honour Him because of familiarity. Familiarity hinders us from receiving blessings. Jesus was not able to do anything much because of their unbelief. He only healed a few sick people. He wasn’t able to do any mighty work there. They limited the Holy One of Israel through their limited mindsets.
We can hinder God’s works in our life when we limit Him with our thinking pattern. If our dominant thought is that we are failures, we block God’s work. But instead if we think that our mighty God can do mighty things for us and our situations will change, we will be able to see God’s work in our life.
