Hope Is A Person

You have hope in Christ even in the darkest hour of your life and God can give double for your trouble. But you need to know your inheritance and live in your true identity as a child of God. From Esau’s life we learned that we will lose everything that we don’t value. Esau sold his birthright to his twin brother Jacob for a bowl of stew. If we don’t value the Word of God in our lives, we will not receive His blessings.
Romans 5:3-5
Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
According to human logic it is insane to rejoice in our sufferings. THe reason why we rejoice in our sufferings is because suffering produces perseverance/endurance. When we go through sufferings, our inner man or our soul part is being reconstructed. As we go through sufferings, we must know that it will produce endurance and thereby build a godly character in us. People with character are gems of this world and the world will honour such people even after their demise.
When we develop Christ-like character within us, it produces hope and hope does not put us to shame. God’s people will never be put to shame (Joel 2:26). God works everything for the good of those who love Him and therefore He can convert moments of disgrace to moments of honour. From shame, He will create honour, respect and reputation. If you give room to the Holy Spirit to do His work inside of you when you go through sufferings and troubles, He will increase your endurance capacity. People who workout at the gym will understand this better. In the beginning lifting up light weights itself would be arduous and painful, but with repetition the muscles become stronger and capable of taking up more weights.
Suffering produces endurance. Paul became a tough character because of the training he received in life through sufferings.
2 Corinthians 6:4-10
Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonour, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything.
When we go through disparate trials in life, know for sure that God has not abandoned you; instead He’s working on the inside of you. Just as how a caterpillar’s transformation to a butterfly is a process; God is in the process of making something beautiful of your life, if you would cooperate with the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Hope is not a feeling/condition/ emotion; but a person! That person is Jesus and the Holy Spirit is a Spirit of hope. The presence of Jesus/ the cognizance that Jesus is with us is our hope even in the darkest hour.
