Everything Is Prepared For You

Genesis 1:1 says, ‘In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.’
It is with the verse Genesis 1:1, that the Bible begins. It is an all encompassing verse that talks about the existence of God and his power. If you closely observe the scriptures, you will soon realize that the Bible was never truly written to prove the existence of God, his power, heavens, hell or even the afterlife. The Bible is not a science/ history book but it contains scientific and historical facts. The Bible is not a storybook, but it comprises real-life stories. The Bible is not philosophical but it contains passages that make one truly ponder. It is therefore, all encompassing. The crux of the message is that, in the beginning itself, when God created the heavens and earth he has created everything that we need. He has accounted for each and every need that we may have in our lives. It is not after our birth that God thinks of our purpose, rather provides provision for us even before we were born. Everything is already prepared and in existence for you. There is no need to create anything new.
A question for you, ‘Who is the author of Genesis’?
It is Moses and in fact wrote the first 5 books of the Bible. Moses was not present when these events took place. There are no witnesses to the happenings in these books. Then how did Moses know of these things?
Firstly, these were revealed to Moses through God. Many at times, throughout the scriptures, we see how Moses spent several days on top of the mountains, whilst having face-to-face conversations with God. We can assume that there were conversations between God and Moses, where God clarified Moses’ questions and any doubts that he may have.
Further, Adam was the first man and he is known to have deep conversations with God, during his time in the Garden of Eden. One can also assume that these conversations were passed down from one generation to the other as oral narratives, which could also act as the source of insight for Moses. Adam lived for almost an entire millennium, we can assume that at that point of time, he must have witnessed several generations and his personal stories that he heard and experienced during his time at Eden was communicated then.
Psalm 90:2 says, ‘Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.’
God is God. From the beginning he is God. Before the infinite universe was born, before man was created, before the milky ways and galaxies, our God was God. God is the maker, engineer, architect and creator of the visible and the invisible. A Hebrew word that is used to indicate the meaning of created/creating is ‘Bara’. It means creating something out of nothing and further along the depth of time, modifications were constantly made.
Psalm 102:25-28 says, ‘25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end. 28 The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you.”’
God is the creator of our world, the very foundation of our universe. The heavens were created by our God and even when the earth will perish and be discarded like a garment , our God will remain and he will renew everything. He will create a new heaven and new earth.
God will renew and refresh many of you. He will remove and shift the situations that you currently live in. Many are writhing in pain, hoping their current states of pain change. Many simply hope to just change from their surroundings and believe that God will change your surroundings. But God will not change. He is immutable.
Titus 1:1-3 says, ‘1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,’
‘Before the beginning of time…’ these words indicate that time was non-existent at a point of time. It is at an appointed time, that time came of relevance and existence. At a time before time in itself was accounted for, before watches, calendars, days, months or seasons, our eternal life was already prepared. Before we were created, or before sin existed, our eternity was predetermined by God. God has already planned for our eternity and everything that we might need to reach there. What you now lack in life, God already knew. What you now, want/need in life, God has prepared. Therefore going back to the first verse, in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, which means that in the beginning, God created everything that we might ever need to reach our destination - eternity.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, ‘11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.’
For instance, Hagar when she journeyed with her son, saw her son dying in front of her eyes, as all the food and water that she had brought with her was over. At that time, when her son was crying out of hunger and desperation, God came down and dug a well for them to provide them with water. God asked Hagar to open their eyes to see the well of water. That well was created much before Hagar’s journey began, but due to the tears that welled her eyes, making her sight blurry, she was unable to see what was before her. In the same way, God has already prepared and created things around you for your every need so do not be burdened by the worries of the world and at the right time, the things God has prepared for you will reach you.
