Do Not Limit God By Your Unbelief
26 January, 2022
The whole world is under the power of the evil one, but we have a Saviour and Redeemer and we can be under His rulership by accepting Him as our Lord and maintaining a passionate relationship with Him. A person shifts from darkness to miraculous light as and when he/she receives Jesus - they switch from Satan's control to God’s control and have a special protection from God.
Job was a righteous and devout person and Satan himself says that God has placed a hedge on every side around Job and his household and all that he owns. If God protected a righteous person in the Old Testament in such a manner; being children of God, how much more safe are we in the hands of our Abba, Father?!
John 10:28,29 - I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
Those who’ve become children of God have a divine protection in their lives (1 John 5:18) and we’re warned to keep ourselves from idols (1 John 5:21)
John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
When light comes in, darkness flees away on its own. If your home has a system of loving, worshiping and honoring Jesus, there’s no room for the devil to enter. Yet, in some born again homes/lives, we still get to see the works of the devil prevailing - that’s because they give space for the devil.
Ephesians 4:27 - and do not give the devil a foothold.
Job 3:25 - For the thing I feared has overtaken me, and what I dreaded has befallen me.
Job always feared danger/ mishap in his life and through that fear, the devil got space to enter in his life.
Even the disciples had some entry doors for Satan left open in their lives and the devil made use of those opportunities. It's significant that we lock/shut the entry doors for Satan right away.
We can either live under God's control or knowingly/ unknowingly be under Satan's control.
1. Unbelief
2 Corinthians 4:4 - The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
The devil can get a grip in our lives if we have unbelief, taking away God's revelation and bringing darkness in everything. So, we need to come out of the devil’s rule.
2. Living under man’s control
Such people who control others' lives may at first be under the devil’s control and therefore the outcome would be devastating. Christ needs to reign in our lives as our Lord and Master - we need to live in a clear understanding and decision of the same.
3. Limiting God and His abilities with your mindset
Psalm 78:41 Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
The people of God considered the Almighty as a small god and limited His power and abilities. God is an Almighty God and there's nothing that's too hard for the Lord; but due to our small perspectives and prayers, we can limit God's work in our lives.
For example, if we attend a fellowship/ service where the atmosphere is fully saturated with God’s presence and anointing with a mindset that ‘God’s not going to do anything in my life’, that very thought can bind God’s hand from doing any miracle/ deliverance in our lives. God is all powerful at all times, but we may not experience His power and glory if we tend to limit Him.
Mark 6:1-7 Jesus left there and went to his hometown, accompanied by his disciples. When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. “Where did this man get these things?” they asked. “What’s this wisdom that has been given him? What are these remarkable miracles he is performing? Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. Then Jesus went around teaching from village to village. Calling the Twelve to him, he began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over impure spirits.
It's not that Jesus didn’t have the power/the anointing/ the ability to perform miracles, but he could not due to their lack of faith, criticism, doubts and negative talks. All he could do there was lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. They limited God’s power due to their lack of faith and Jesus was amazed at their lack of faith.
Regardless of how many gadgets/ equipment you have in your home and the electricity supply provided, you need to switch it on to benefit from it. The Lord has the will and power to do wonders in your life, but the question is, ‘whether you need it?’!
The people of Nazareth considered him as a common man and didn’t give ears to His Word or receive His works. It's the innocent and child-like faith that opens the doors of blessings into our lives. Faith is the capital in the Kingdom of God, with which there can be great changes in your life situations and in your destiny!
