Jesus Can Help You In Any Stage Of Your Life
How can we develop radical faith in our lives? Suppose our prayers aren’t answered and there are troubles in our life, how do we still stay in the faith? How can we live positively when all the circumstances that we are in, are negative ?
We saw how Jesus cursed a fig tree with his words. He told us that that was just a model/ example for us and that we can do the same to any situation with our words and with our faith. Every child of God can move mountains (impossible situations) as Jesus modelled out for us. We are more than conquerors in Christ and we must not let any trial stop us from completing our race.
All of us face problems in our lives. People with no money have problems due to that, people with lots of money have problems due to that as well! Everyone has their own problem.
However, regardless of our trials we must keep our faith and our hope in Christ.
Hebrews 12:2 “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
This is our Pioneer, or Captain, our Leader and we only have to follow Him. When problems come, we seek God but there are times we encounter hindrances on the path. We see an example of such a situation in Mark 5.21-42 which reflects radical faith.
The context of this portion of the Bible is the story of the demon possessed man that Jesus set free in Gerasenes (Mark 5. 1-20).The demons pleaded to be sent into the pigs who then jump into the sea and suicide.
After this ministry, Jesus sees that a huge crowd on the other side is waiting for him! In this crowd on the seashore, there was a man named Jairus, synagogue leader waiting for Jesus as well. His daughter was sick and dying and he pleaded for Jesus to come to his house and heal her. Jesus then goes with her and a huge crowd is travelling with Him. It was a moving healing crusade and people were getting healed on the way.
A woman who had a bleeding problem for 12 years, approached Jesus. She slid through the crowd and touched the hem of Jesus’ robe.
Verses 26-28 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.”
In that instant, her bleeding stopped, and she was healed! Jesus asked, “Who touched me?” because he felt the power flow from him. Even today, healing is flowing from Jesus!
According to the law, a lady with bleeding should not step outside and anyone who touches her becomes impure. In Mark 5:34, when Jesus heard her story, He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Jesus gave her all the credit for her healing. He said that it was her radical (uncommon) faith that had healed her.
While this miracle was amazing and joyous, Jairus was upset. While this halt occurred, Jairus was informed that his daughter had passed away. Jairus then plans to go back and plan for the funeral. When Jesus heard this, he said to simply believe and not to be afraid! He then travels to Jairus’ house which was filled with wailing and grieving because of the young girl who died. Jesus then tells them that the girl is not dead, but only sleeping. The people who were crying, then started laughing at Jesus!
Jesus asked these mockers to leave the house. He took only the child’s parents and the disciples and went to the young girl. He asked her to wake up, and miraculously, she woke up and started speaking!
Jesus is a known miracle-worker! He was not an ordinary teacher or rabbi. He was someone who went into the lives of ordinary people and performed supernatural miracles by delivering them! He even raised up the dead!
No human problem is too hard for Jesus to solve; in fact, he specialises in them!
Both the women he healed were impure at the time (due to bleeding and due to death) but he stepped into the unclean situations and made them clean and whole! This is what Jesus does even today. He can clear up our impurities and our mess and completely turn us around!
In this story, we know that Jairus had waited long to bring Jesus to his daughter. In the midst of this, the lady with the bleeding interrupted his journey. We may also have seen that when we are praying for our needs, other people overtake us and receive blessings. We tend to ask why Jesus didn’t show up on time for us. But we must know that, when blessings are ‘delayed’ in our terms, the sweeter they tend to be! In Jairus’ story, we saw a ‘late’, but extraordinary miracle!
A delayed miracle is a big miracle!
