Do You Want Spiritual Gifts?

These days we are discussing the topic of our Heavenly Father's gifts which has been special to me.
Today we are on the concluding stage. Although this topic is very vast, my intention was to impart some idea  about the abundance of our Heavenly Father's Gift that we all can receive simply by accepting and believing.
Romans 10:9
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Among the many gifts we touched, the most important one is the gift of the Holy Spirit. I will just mention the gifts that we can have when we have the Holy Spirit in us.

1 Corinthians 1:17
Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

We are all waiting for the second coming of Jesus and being prepared for it so never lack in any of these spiritual gifts .

Romans 12:6-8
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, the prophecy in accordance with your faith;7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement;if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,do it diligently; if it is to show mercy,
do it cheerfully.

In the above scripture portion apostle Paul is providing five different types of Spiritual gifts we can have. No believer in this world is without any Spiritual Gift. Everyone has them, we are not able to recognise them well just like how Jesus said to the Samaritan woman. If we recognise our Spiritual gifts our lives will never be the same.

If our gift is to prophise then do it according to our belief and faith. If our gift is to serve then serve others, provide service to all who need it. If teaching is your gift then teach others either advise them rightly about circumstances with confidence and teach the Bible or spread the Word of God to everyone.
If it is to encourage then encourage others, motivate them. If our gift is to give then give generously without any expectation. If our gift is to lead then lead a group diligently. If it is to show mercy then do it happily.
Next we will look into the gifts of ministry.

Ephesians 3: 7
7 I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power.
Here Paul says he became a servant of the gospel by God's grace. This means ministers of God are purely God's chosen gift especially in the New Testament.

In the Old Testament there are many different types of ministers.
  • Priests : They can be High priests and other subcategories
  • Prophets: they are the oracles of God , some were very anointed.
  • Kings : There were many kings who ruled countries and also took on Wars or battles .

In the New Testament ministers
Ephesians 4 :8
This is why it says“When he ascended on high,he took many captives and gave gifts to his people.

Ephesians 4 : 11- 13
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Here five types of ministers are mentioned
  • Apostles
  • Prophets
  • Evangelists
  • Pastors
  • Teachers

Prophets are the similar type of ministers as that in the Old Testament times rest are different.
Ephesians 4:12
"to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up"
Every believer living in the New Testament is a teacher and has a God's ministry entitled to them as a Spiritual Gift but there are special chosen ministers who are to train and equip us all for the second coming of Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:6
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands

Romans 11:29
For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

When God has given a gift to us he will never take it back but it is our decision to use it to the fullest .
We have learned alot about the heavenly Father's Gift now it's our simple duty to believe and accept all.
