ATM: Any Time Mercy

John 1:17’For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.’
Galatians 1:6-9’6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! 9 As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let them be under God’s curse!’

Paul is calling out the Galatians. He was astonished that in spite of hearing the gospel from Christ, when others came proclaiming the Old Testament teachings of Moses they diverted. Paul claims that such people are under God’s curse. They no longer have the freedom in Christ.  

In John 8, we find about an adulterous woman who was brought by the Pharisees and religious leaders to Christ. They wanted to stone her for her crimes. 
6 They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger. 7 They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” 8 Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust. 9 When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman. 10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” 11 “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”
Jesus did not accuse her no matter what her crimes were. This is Jesus. He loved her so much that he did not hurt her even with words but asked her to never commit sins again. And he gave her freedom from her sins and the grace to live a sinless life. This is our Lord Jesus. 
Moses gave commandments on how to live. What to do and what not to. But when Jesus came, he replaced all of these. He forgives our sins and gives us his freedom. But not many in this world know and enjoy the freedom in Christ. 
Many of us still are in this guilty pit where even though we acknowledge the grace and mercy of Christ, we believe that if we do or don’t do certain things we are sinning. 

This is the result of other gospels that are not of Christ. Many preachers or teachers don’t teach the grace and mercy of Christ. There are people who teach the distorted gospel. 
Gospel means good news. The gospel of Christ is our good news.
