Layers Of Grace

We were discussing the 'Amazing Grace of God. Today we will look into the different layers of grace as we saw grace is in layers therefore known as grace upon grace. If we get a deep understanding of these various layers and the amazing grace upon grace bestowed on us our Spiritual life will never be the same.

John 1:16
Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.
 
Some of the different layers of God's grace.

1.For Salvation

  Titus 2:1
  For the grace of God has appeared that.      offers salvation to all people.

This clearly says people receive salvation from God's grace. It was due to God's grace that people were saved. It can be compared to a rising star that is visible from any place of the world. Similarly the free gift of salvation is available to anyone anywhere no matter what situation you are in or in whatever denomination you can receive the salvation thru God's grace.

Acts 15:11
But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.
 
2.Forgiveness of Sins 

Ephesians 1:17
In him we have redemption through his blood,the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

Forgiveness of sins in accordance with God's grace and the redemption is from his blood.

3.Believing

Acts 18:27
When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia,
The brothers and sisters encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there to welcome him. When he arrived, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed
This portion portrays how believing is obtained from another layer of grace. Grace is the foundation of people living in the New Testament period.

4. Justification

 Roman 3:24
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
It is purely God's grace that makes a sinner just like he has never committed sins. Justification by God's grace.

5. The call of God
 
Galatians 1 :15
But when God, who set me apart from my mother’s womb and called me  by his grace, was pleased

Many are chosen or called by God's grace in other words the call of God on some people is totally by God's grace.

6.Consolation or encouragement 

This is another layer of grace when people feel an enthusiasm in living  a committed life in God. It is an eternal encouragement

2 Thessalonians 2:16
May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope

7.Strenght and weaknesses
 Another layer of grace when it strengthens us fully and gives an individual a fulfilled life. 

2 Corinthians 13:9 
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me

8.Identity
1 Corinthians 15:10
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me

We are who we are because of God's grace.

9.Our Stand before God
  We are qualified even before God because of his grace.

Romans 5: 2
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

10. Our behavior
2 Corinthians 2 :12
Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me

Our behavior is also due to God's grace .

11.Our living
Those who receive the abundance of grace and free gift of righteousness to reign in life through one man Jesus Christ.
We are living in abundance of God's grace

1 Peter 1 : 7
These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed

12.Holiness

2 Timothy 2:9
for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.
We are called for a holy purpose which is provided by God's grace.

 13. Our strength for living
 2 Timothy 2:1
Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
We are all strengthened by the grace of God which gives power and strength.

Hebrew 13 :9
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods,which is of no benefit to those who do so

14.Our way of speaking
 Let our way of talking and conversation always be graceful.

 Colossians 4 :6
Let your conversation be always full of grace,seasoned with salt,so that you may know how to answer everyone

15 Our serving
  
1 Peter 1:10
Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you,searched intently and with the greatest care

Our serving God as a ministry or to one another is also by another layer of 
God's grace

16 Our sufficiency

2 Corinthians 12 :9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

17: Our response to difficulties and suffering
All this depends on God's grace
Hebrew 4:16
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

1 Peter 1:10
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you

18 Our participation in God's mission

Acts 11:23
So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias

19 Our Future
 Our Future is present in as another layer of God's grace

1 Peter 1:13
Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming

20.Our hope beyond death
This is another layer of God's grace when by his grace we get hope for an eternal life

Romans 5 :21
so that, just as sin reigned in death,
 so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord
