Can A Person Fall Away From Grace ? Part 3

What are the ways by which we can fall away from Grace?

1. Turning back to legalism
2. Unbelief ( an unbelieving hardened heart)

1 Timothy 4.1,2 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.
Deceptive teachings from demonic spirits can mislead believers and make them abandon their true faith. These teachings are not Christ centred though they seem to be scripture based. 

Matthew 24.10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other. 
Social media is used today to deceive believers to turn away from their faith through criticism and betrayal. 

2 Peter 2:1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them —bringing swift destruction on themselves.
In the last days some false prophets and teachers will secretly bring in teachings that will make people abandon their faith. All these are plans of Satan to destroy believers, ministers and even churches. We must discern the deceptive schemes of Satan.

2 Peter 2.20-22  If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,” and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
 
These are warning passages to help us to be careful in our faith. God’s grace is available to all. But many after having received the grace and enjoyed it,  have fallen away from this grace and are subject to greater judgement. We should not waste the grace as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15.10, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them —yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

3. If you sin deliberately

Hebrews 10. 26,27  If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgement and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

4. If you are proud 

James 4.6 God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Titus 2.11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 
It's up to us to utilise the grace that is available to all people and not let it go lapse and face the wrath of God.
