Possess Your Inheritance
We all know that the Bible is loaded with blessings and promises for everyone who welcomes Jesus as their Lord and Savior into their lives and yet we do not experience/ enjoy those blessings. And this week, we’ve been focusing on how to upgrade our lives from the current status to the Biblical standard of living.
God Himself placed a list of blessings and curses before us and asked us to opt the path of blessings; similarly He gave us the choice to opt between life and death.
Genesis 2:16,17 And the LORD God commanded him, “You may eat freely from every tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; for in the day that you eat of it, you will surely die.”
Unfortunately they chose to eat from the tree that caused them to die and that led to all the problems in history.
Proverbs 10:6 Blessings crown the head of the righteous, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked.
Our faith in Lord Jesus is credited to us as His righteousness whereas our righteous acts are like filthy rags.
Ezekiel 34:26 I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.
Our focus must be to receive showers of blessings in our life.
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

We saw this in the life of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4. 9,10). His mother gave birth to him in pain and so named him Jabez. It was even more painful for him to be called Jabez by his near and dear as his name meant pain. But one day he decided ‘I need a change’ and so he cried out to the Lord, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
If you’re a person who’s done with your current standard of living, cry out to God just like Jabez that He may lift your head and expand your territory in this very year which we have declared to be the year of ‘Enlargement’.
We need to seek first the Kingdom of God in order to be blessed. Do not be an ordinary Christian and seek God only for your needs/ religious satisfaction/ to put a good image before others; because God desires that you would seek His Kingdom first, which is not a matter of eating, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Know Your Inheritance and Possess It
Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
We experience a major change in life as and when we position and approach God as our Father, because we become children of the God Most High! And if we are children, we are heirs of God. Once you know your inheritance as a child of God, nothing can shake you. This is not an imagination but a reality and it is upto us to acknowledge it and live it.
The whole earth and everything in it belongs to the Lord God, whom we call Abba Father! Therefore, you are an heir of everything that belongs to the Heavenly Father.
Romans 8:32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
All that we need here on Earth - all things - basic needs, material things, spiritual blessings - everything is given to us as a single package and being an heir of God we have the right to enjoy it all.
Know your inheritance and possess it.
Fear of the Lord is another secret to live a blessed life.
Psalm 112:1 Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands.
The fear of the Lord is a necessity that triggers the showers of Abba’s blessings upon our lives. There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. Man’s ways can be disastrous.
Proverbs 14:2 Whoever fears the LORD walks uprightly, but those who despise him are devious in their ways.
We must grow in the fear of the Lord that we may walk right and be blessed!
