The Anointing For Rebuilding

Isaiah 61:4
They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.
Rebuilding from ruins is a much more tedious task than building something new. It needs more anointing and is more difficult. The Messiah has the anointing to rebuild.
Nehemiah 2:20
I answered them by saying, “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding, but as for you, you have no share in Jerusalem or any claim or historic right to it.”
Nehemiah had the anointing to rebuild. Anointing gives us strength and empowers us to execute a special task. We receive God’s anointing to carry out God’s special projects and not for us to continue in our old ways of life.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
We receive power that we may be His witnesses.
In the Old Testament, Nehemiah received the anointing to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. There is a restoration underway. In the process, we see four things taking place. Namely,
1)Return
2)Rebuilding
3)Restoration
4)Revival
This is how God works.
Once, we may have been lost and broken but God builds us up step by step. The anointing that Nehemiah had was for rebuilding. First step is to return, the second is rebuilding. Rebuilding over ruins, over the same foundation, then comes restoration. Nehemiah got back priests, the Levites, leaders of districts, princes, goldsmiths, perfumers, common people, merchants, and put the administration back in order. He restored worship and God’s Word and obedience to the law of the LORD.
In today’s world, we need the anointing that was on Nehemiah to restore, to bring back the Word, doing what the Word says, what the Church must do and follow, to turn the Church and its worship back to God. This is when revival happens. But for this, Nehemiah and those with him did a lot of work. Return, rebuilding, restoration. Revival came after all this.
The most important ability before God is availability. The availability and willingness to do God’s work. God anoints such people.
2 Corinthians 3:6
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant
God equips us and makes us competent and able; it is not our doing or merit.
2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
Everything we have is from God and for God.
Christian life is an experience. It is real and to be enjoyed. People have the misunderstanding that once you become a Christian you have to give up everything and can enjoy nothing. But that is not true, you really start enjoying life when you are in the Lord.
Life becomes meaningful only in Jesus.
John 11:25
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
Jesus is the source of life and there is no life without Christ.
Philippians 1:21
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Christian life is not just a changed life but an exchanged life. We receive Christ’s life in exchange for our life.
Christian life is not a changed life but an exchanged life.
Jesu gave His life, His all for us. Now we must give our all to Him.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15
For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
In David’s time, a tabernacle was built to worship God and this pleased God, so God said He will rebuild David’s fallen house. This rebuilding happened at Pentecost. God brought back worship in spirit and truth.
The Old Testament’s David’s worship is the New Testament’s worship in spirit and truth.
May we be open to receive the anointing to rebuild like our Messiah did.
