God Does Not Control Everything

God does not control everything. There are certain things He controls absolutely and certain things He doesn’t.
1 John 5:18-21 says, ‘We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.’
Note that this passage says, the whole world is under the control of the evil one. As per this verse, the whole wide world is under the control of evil. So where is God then? Evil controls the present world that we live in. John the Apostle who wrote this epistle is a man who has received deep revelations, he went to the third heavens, he saw our present and things that are yet to manifest.
2 Corinthians 4:4 says, ‘The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.’
The god of this age is Satan who deceives everyone. He even told Jesus in Matthew 4.8-9 that he would give all the kingdoms of the world to Jesus if he would bow down and worship Satan. This is foolishness as Jesus is the Creator of all things.
Going back to 1 John 5:18-21, the verses say that One who is born of God, does not continue to sin which means he hates sin and does not live a sinful life; even when he makes mistakes he gets up and tries to live a life of holiness. Jesus keeps them safe from evil (John 17), which means distancing them from evil and if they falter instead of dwelling in their follies, picking them up and guiding them back to God. Here the One is Jesus. He is the good shepherd (John 10) who protects us, finds us and brings us back when we are lost.
John 10:3-4 says, ‘The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.’
John 17:11-12 says, ‘I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.’
Psalm 121:4
Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
There is a godly protection over those who believe and trust the Lord. God will protect his children and the evil one cannot harm us. We know that we are children of God and the evil one cannot harm us and if the evil one tries to hurt us, our God protects us while the whole world is under the control of the evil one. When it’s said that the whole world is under the evil one, it does not refer to the physical- water, land, moon and sun, but it indicates the control of the evil one over the societal norms, the political systems, traditions, education, sports, beliefs and culture of the world. Satan has infiltrated sin into every aspect of the worldly ecosystem thereby giving him control over such matters. But we are the children of God, and we are protected by the One, Jesus. Because of our faith in Jesus we were able to jump out from clutches of the evil one and live a life protected under our Saviour. 1 John 5:20 says that God has also given us understanding so that we are able to decipher good from evil. The following verse also says that we must keep ourselves away from idols. Idols does not mean statues made from mud and clay, but anything or anybody that replaces God in our life. When we receive Jesus as our Saviour, He becomes our Saviour/Lord/Master and so we are in His control and not of Satan's. This is the greatest privilege of a child of God.
1 John 3:1 says, ‘See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.’
There are three types of control: the evil control, the God control and the man control.
What does it mean to live under God's control? The word “control” might not be the right word to describe God as He does not control, which is why we have freewill. God likes to lead us by love. We are given the freedom to choose whom we should follow. However, if we surrender ourselves we can live under God's Lordship.
Matthew 6:9-10 says, ‘“This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’
God has not mechanized anyone’s faith even in heaven. As you know eons and eons ago, Lucifer was an archangel who competed against God and led astray several other archangels in heaven who later became fallen angels. Hence God does not control anyone, even when you are in the heavens. But those who have surrendered themselves unto God, will be guided and protected by Him.
You have to choose, do you want to be under the Lordship of God where you will be protected, guided and blessed by Him, or do you want to be under the control of the evil one.
