Jesus Can Help You In Any Stage Of Your Life

We are all more than conquerors in Christ and we can and should overcome all troubles in life. God’s children should never give up and live a life of defeat. Our attitude should be that of Paul’s who said in 2 Timothy 4.7-8, “7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day —and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
Everyone in this world has different levels of problems. What we should do is look to Christ, the Captain of our faith.
Hebrews 12:2
“fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”.
We see an example of radical faith in Mark chapter 5.
Mark 5:21-42
After Jesus drives out a legion of demons from one man, he crosses over in a boat and sees a huge crowd who had different kinds of problems, waiting for Him. Among this crowd, a man called Jairus waited to ask Jesus to pray over his daughter who was sick and dying. He wanted Jesus to go home with him. When Jesus was walking with Jairus, the crowd continued to follow Him. It was a walking healing crusade. Amongst this, a lady who was bleeding for 12 years crept up behind Jesus and touched his cloak. She was healed immediately. Jesus felt the power flow from Him and He asked to find out who touched Him.
30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
The woman with bleeding was an unclean woman as far as the Jewish law was concerned. But she was desperate and bold to come out and touch Jesus’ cloak to receive her healing. Jesus gives her all the credit for her healing and said that it was her faith that healed her! It was a radical faith!
In the midst of this amazing miracle, there was one man who was disappointed and pained- Jairus. This woman delayed Jesus’ journey to his house. He was called back to plan the funeral rites for his daughter as his daughter had died in the meantime. When Jesus heard this, He said “don’t be afraid; just believe.”
Jesus travelled to Jairus’ house and saw people crying and wailing. Jesus said, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” They all laughed at Him.
Verses 40-43
After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.
Among the many people who were healed that day, the Bible details this double miracle. Jesus was not just an ordinary Rabi. He was one who delivered people from their problems. He is one who can go into the problematic situations of a person's life and bring them out. He is one that can heal and perform miracles! He can provide at any stage; even when there is no hope left.
Both the cases were ‘unclean’ to the Jews- bleeding and dead bodies. But Jesus still stepped into the unclean and made it clean and new!
Jairus waited long hours to see Jesus but someone else was healed before Jesus catered to Jairus. Sometimes others may receive their answered prayers before you. But God is never late and He can always provide for you. The miracle Jairus received though delayed was more beautiful. Jesus instead of healing his sick child, resurrected her dead body and brought her back to life. It was a greater miracle. Delayed blessings are greater blessings.
