Heavenly Food Arrives When You Sleep
If God is in your life, He makes you walk in the right path in a beautiful way and gives us peace and joy. As a Christian, we will go through persecution and tough situations, but that should not be our focus. Our focus should be our life with Jesus. He makes life easy and will give us peace and rest.
Sadhu Sundar Singh was a man of God. His village members were against his Christian faith, and they tied him up to a tree and burned a fire with chillies in it right under him. While he was suffering in this time, he says that he was filled with joy! He was rejoicing because he was persecuted for the same Jesus that died on a cross for him! He considered it a blessing! He was overflowing with joy.
If we have Jesus, life will be joyful and easy in any situation! We only need to learn to experience and live in God’s peace and rest by surrendering to Him and trusting Him.
When man works, God rests. When man rests, God works. When we try to control and desperately work for things in our lives, we seldom achieve things.
John 6.21- Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
When Jesus entered the boat, they immediately reached their destination. God brings divine acceleration.
This does not mean we should become lazy and do nothing. This means that we should relax within by trusting God. We should surrender things to God. If God is guiding us, things will happen beautifully!
An example of this is the journey of the Israelites through the dessert. We see this in Exodus, and reflections on this journey in the book of Prophets, Psalms and other books of the Bible. This journey is a shadow of what we are living in today.
The Israelites traveled with around 3 million people. An entire nation was shifting from one place to another place. God raised Moses to lead them in their walk through the desert where there was no food, water, essentials etc. Such a huge exodus has not happened in history. God gave them very strict and clear instructions before they left Egypt that they should leave the place. He split the Red Sea for them.
These were all shadows for what is happening today. God can rescue us from whatever situation we are in.
The Israelites worshipped God after leaving Egypt, Miriam led them in worship as a strong worship leader. But once they escaped from Egypt, they were in a desert. They wondered how they would eat, drink, and survive!
Exodus 16:7,13 6 So Moses and Aaron said to all the Israelites, “In the evening you will know that it was the LORD who brought you out of Egypt,7- “and in the morning you will see the glory of the Lord, because he has heard your grumbling against him. Who are we, that you should grumble against us?”
13-14- That evening quail came and covered the camp, and in the morning, there was a layer of dew around the camp. 14 When the dew was gone, thin flakes like frost on the ground appeared on the desert floor.
God provided them with food daily for 40 years! In the evening, God sent quail for the Israelites to eat. They birds came to the people and stood in front of them, ready for them to catch and eat. In the morning, they saw flakes of manna on the ground as bread for them to eat!
Numbers 11:7 The manna was like coriander seed and looked like resin.
Psalm 78:24 “he rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven.”
Till they reach the land with fruits, God provided them with food daily! This was the first home delivery system and God established it in the desert!
Joshua 5:12 The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan.
The manna was provided while they slept. Normally, we toil and work in the field for food. But God provided for them in their sleep and rest!
Manna has a huge importance. Jesus said that He is the bread of life. It was a shadow for Jesus. We only need to be still and rest, God will provide what we need!
